Being a professional electrician can be a lucrative and fulfilling career. Some electricians handle construction jobs, and others handle residential services. This video explains three types of electricians that you can choose to become.
One of the benefits of being an electrician is that you are constantly moving from one job to the next. There are a diverse range of situations an electrician will find themselves in so the work doesn’t get stale. You can learn something new every day! For example, an electrician may work mainly on indoor systems one day but then move to an outdoor job the next.
Electricians are tasked with handling the electrical wiring and appliances of different buildings. They may help on the initial building or the maintenance after construction is complete. Sometimes, businesses and homes need help troubleshooting a down system. Electricians can help there, too.
The three different licenses you can get are 309A (construction & maintenance), 309C (domestic & rural), and 442A (industrial). 309A contractors handle electrical systems in large buildings. 309C electricians handle residential buildings. 442A work on different manufacturing plants, like a car factory.
